Conrad Veidt, FILM WEEKLY, May 4, 1934

Conrad VEIDT. – Heart-fluttered-in-chief of British films, and one of the really great actors too. Looks his 40 years, brown skinned, blue inscrutable eyes. Fine head, 6 ft. 2 ins., military figure. Speaks quickly in deep, murmuring voice. Silent, perfectly mannered; thrice married. Born in Berlin. Trained with Reinhardt. Played in classic Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Went to Hollywood in 1927, but fled from talkies. Now his accent is an asset. Established resident of Park-lane. Loves Italian holidays. Favourite English words: “lousy” and “dear.”
